چکیده
In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6, main goal of Special Issue on “Remote sensing for water resources and environmental management” was to solicit papers from a diverse range scientists around world use cutting-edge remote technologies assess monitor freshwater quality, quantity, availability, management ensure security. consideration given scientific manuscripts that covered, but were not limited to, development geospatial techniques applications detecting, quantifying, monitoring resources, identifying potential threats agriculture, as well other themes related at various spatial scales. The attracted over thirteen peer-reviewed articles, majority originating China. Most studies made satellite datasets, ranging coarse resolution data, such Gravity Recovery Climate Experiment (GRACE) GRACE Follow-On (GRACE-FO), medium Landsat series, ERA5, Modern-Era Retrospective Analysis Research Application Land version 2 reanalysis product (MERRA2), CLSM NOAH ET, MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer). Google Earth Engine (GEE) together big data processing techniques, sensing-based energy balance model (ALEXI/DisALEXI approach) STARFM fusion technique, used analyzing datasets. Overall, this demonstrated significant knowledge gaps in image improved computing processes assessing environment temporal

Preface: Remote Sensing of Water Resources
The Special Issue (SI) on “Remote Sensing of Water Resources” presents a diverse range of papers studying remote sensing tools, methods, and models to better monitor water resources which include inland, coastal, and open ocean waters. The SI is comprised of fifteen articles on widely ranging research topics related to water bodies. This preface summarizes each article published in the SI.
متن کاملUse of remote sensing data in a GIS environment for water resources management
While in the field of hydrology remote sensing techniques are often applied and well accepted there is still a deficit in the use of remote sensing techniques in the field of planning, design and operation of water resources systems. It is the aim of this paper to overcome this deficit and encourage water managers to use remote sensing techniques more widely. In order to achieve this, several s...
متن کاملA Stochastic Model for Water Resources Management
Irrigation water management is crucial for agricultural production and livelihood security in many regions and countries throughout the world. Over the past decades, controversial and conflictladen water-allocation issues among competing municipal, industrial and agricultural interests have raised increasing concerns. Particularly, growing population, varying natural conditions and shrinking wa...
متن کاملRemote Sensing and Environmental Monitoring
Remotely sensed data have two significant characteristics. Firstly, they are available in digital form, which allows them to be manipulated by computer. Secondly, they provide a range of information derived from observations made using electromagnetic radiation (EMR) with wavelengths ranging from those of the visible wavebands (0.4–0.7 μm) to the microwave region (3–30 cm). Modulation of incomi...
متن کاملPossibility Using Remote Sensing for Estimation Sediment Resources to Reservoir of Exploitation Dams
Sedimentation in reservoirs is a prerequisite for sustainable water management. The Dez dam is very important the country because of its role in electricity frequency adjustment. The main objective of this research is to identify the sources of sediment in the catchment using satellite images, GIS and hydro-geological information. For this purpose, the lab results of sediments mineralogy reveal...
